What is your perception of social media, do you think it is a fad or the biggest shift since the Industrial Revolution?

In the modern era many types of social media are there, all these media has its own use, application and advantages. social media is a hub where people can share, interchange, explain their ideas, views. There are different types of social media nowadays, like Face book, Twitter, Google, Instagram, Whatsapp, Skype, hangout,etc. it's part of people's daily life. social media update me with the latest news around the world and updating my general knowledge. I can share videos, photos and post with my friends form far, I can be in touch with my family and friends even if I was away from my home. from last few years social media introduce facilities of video calling, so you can see your family or friends live. so according to me social media is not fad, it's a biggest shifts from industrial revolution.
